The twisted stiffeners used on barbed wire fencing between the posts: how are they put on

Are they twisted by hand around existing fence? Is each wire threaded

easy-sounding to use.
Thanks also for the names of fasteners and
tools. A question like mine indicates that the asker needs as much
specific help as possible. And you gave it.

You start the open end of the stiffener on the top wire &

simply screw it onto each wire in turn. Many folks make their own

stiffeners from regular barb wire. Use a length slightly longer than the

the line. Pretty simple really. You could use a masonry drill bit on the
cement block & install expanding anchors in the holes & either drill & tap
the gate frame for screws or tie the fencing to the frame with wire.
